The Law Offices of Melanie R. Costantino is a general practice firm with a focus on elder law, including guardianships, Medicaid applications and appeals, and estate administration. Additionally, Ms. Costantino has experience with commercial and complex litigation, including matters concerning collections and judgment execution, healthcare law, foreclosures, real estate, fraudulent conveyances, bankruptcy, and secured/unsecured interests.
From 2007-2008, Ms. Costantino clerked for the Honorable Renee Jones Weeks, J.S.C. (ret.), Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County, Probate and General Equity Parts. While there, she gained knowledge and experience in the areas of guardianship and probate law, as well as actions concerning foreclosures, partitions, specific performance of contracts, and other equitable remedies.
Ms. Costantino routinely serves as a Court-appointed attorney, Temporary Guardian, Guardian ad Litem in Guardianship matters all over the state, including Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Union Counties. She has also been appointed to serve as a Temporary Administrator, Administrator/Substituted Administrator and Trustee in complex Estate and Trust matters.
Ms. Costantino is licensed to practice in both New York and New Jersey, and is admitted to the District of New Jersey, and the Eastern District of New York. She is currently the Vice Chair of the Elder Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association. She also serves on the board of the New Jersey chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NJNAELA). She is a member of the Bergen County Bar Association. Ms. Costantino received her Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law, New York, New York in 2007.
Ms. Costanino is a resident of Bergen County where she lives with her husband, two children, and Tori, their rescue dog. In her spare time, Ms. Costantino trains and competes in Powerlifting and Strongman competitions, and in 2018, she was the United States Strongman Nationals Champion in the Masters Heavyweight Division. She is also an avid tennis player, and enjoys golf.
